105MR - Malachite and Gilt-Bronze Center Table
This magnificent center table, attributed to the esteemed French bronze foundry Denière, is a testament to the grandeur and artistry of the Empire style. The circular tabletop is meticulously inlaid with a panel of vibrant malachite stone, showcasing the mineral's unique swirling patterns and rich emerald hues. This captivating surface provides a dramatic focal point for the piece.
The table's support is a masterpiece of sculptural design. Four winged gryphon figures, crafted from chiseled brass and plated with 24-karat gold, stand as powerful and elegant supports. These figures, rendered with remarkable detail, embody the classical inspiration and mythological themes favored during the Empire period.
A circular malachite-inlaid platform at the table's base echoes the design of the tabletop, creating a cohesive and visually striking composition. The gilt-bronze detailing, including intricate friezes and decorative borders, further enhances the table's opulence and refinement.
