017 - Malachite and Lapis Lazuli-Inlaid Table
This stunning table is a testament to the artistry and opulence of fine furniture design, showcasing a captivating blend of luxurious materials and intricate detailing. The tabletop is a masterpiece of inlaid stone, featuring a central oval panel of vibrant malachite stone, renowned for its swirling patterns and rich emerald hues. Surrounding this central panel are four corner panels of deep blue lapis lazuli, adding a striking contrast and enhancing the table's visual depth.
The stone panels are seamlessly integrated within a frame of elaborately chased and gilded brass, plated with 24-karat gold. The gilt-bronze frame is adorned with intricate detailing, including stylized seashells and delicate leaf garlands, reflecting a harmonious blend of classical and naturalistic motifs.
The table's support structure is equally impressive. The legs, crafted from chiseled and gilded brass, feature elaborate scrolling forms and decorative elements, further enhancing the table's opulence and artistic appeal. A central, ornate stretcher, also executed in gilt-bronze, adds structural stability and visual interest.
