020 - Crystal vase
This captivating Rococo style vase is a testament to ornate elegance, seamlessly blending the brilliance of cut crystal with the luxurious warmth of 24-carat gold-plated chiseled brass. The vase features a gracefully contoured body crafted from clear cut crystal, its surface adorned with vertical fluting that beautifully catches and refracts light, creating a dynamic visual texture.
True to the whimsical and decorative spirit of the Rococo era, the vase is richly embellished with intricate gilded brass mounts. Two charming cherub figures, quintessential motifs of the style, are prominently positioned. Each cherub is depicted holding a trident, adding a playful and symbolic element to the design.
Sweeping garlands of vines, heavy with clusters of grapes, are meticulously rendered in chiseled and gilded brass, gracefully encircling the central portion of the vase. These naturalistic and flowing forms are characteristic of Rococo ornamentation, adding a sense of abundance and decorative richness.
The vase is further enhanced by elaborate gilded brass detailing on the base and the rim. These areas feature the scrolling foliage, shell motifs, and curvilinear lines that are hallmarks of the Rococo aesthetic, ensuring a cohesive and visually opulent presentation. This vase is a delightful embodiment of the Rococo style, exuding charm, sophistication, and the exquisite artistry of the period.
