999 - Fauconnier arabe à cheval
This striking 20th-century bronze sculpture, executed in the manner of the renowned French animalier sculptor Pierre-Jules Mêne (1810-1879), captures the dynamism and exoticism of the "Arab Falconer" subject. The sculpture depicts a North African figure, attired in traditional garb, confidently mounted on a spirited steed. With a raised arm, he signals to his falcon (now missing), suggesting a moment of anticipation and command.
